The film industry is stuck in a trend of reboots and live-action remakes, no doubt to play it “safe” so as not to risk a new movie flopping. This leaves little room for creativity in screenplays and makes for a repetitive movie-going experience. For my senior project, I decided to make a series of posters addressing this very issue and advocating for change.
This was the promo poster for my showcase, which was hung up around campus. To stick with the movie theme of my project, I envisioned show lights and stylistic font.
The hopeful note with which I wanted my audience to take with them. I hoped to not only instill a call-to-action, but also inspiration.
This poster was to emphasize how unmemorable most remakes are, because they're just a rehashing of movies we've already seen.
I wanted to put a simple but hopefully effective comparison between unmemorable remakes and timeless original stories.
The purpose of this propaganda inspired poster was to put into perspective what Hollywood is essentially doing.
The final project documentation I compiled for further insight into the process of my senior project.
The measurements and layout I used to plan my exhibit's display.
The in-theme invitations I designed for
my showcase.
