Like illustration, art has a special place in my heart, especially that which involves drawing. Featured below areĀ pieces from various classes I have taken over the years, including Drawing 101, Principles of Design, 3-D Design,
and Printmaking.
Tasked with designing a 6x6 structure with exactly half of it's volume removed, I set to work with sketches first, then making a model with foam, and finally bringing it to life in concrete. It took lots of trial and error, but I was very pleased with the final result.
My college is blessed to have an original old fashioned printing press used by the brothers who founded the school, and to embrace this history they still have a printmaking class in which I got to work in various methods, such as linocut and screen printing. This was my favorite piece from said class.
This was a fun assignment, and I was all too happy to express my love of panda bears through it.
I spent many an evening sprawled across my dorm room floor surrounded by paper cut outs to make this project.
